Well, some people just have very different ways of processing information, dealing with novelty and making decisions. After years of research, I have learned that everyone falls into one of four profiles, when it comes to communication style. And it is easier than you think to spot someone's communication style and adapt yours, in order to better resonate with them.</p>Q5 or Topic 5 Biggest Gap Feedback<p><strong>Scanning Fears and Desires</strong></p><p>This is a key area that is often neglected by agencies, ironically. Your potential client wants to hire you to sell more. Period. And you will be hired to do that only if you manage to sell your agency to them. In any sale where competition lurks right around the corner, you need to create the perception that you understand the clients pains better than anyone else. And those pains might come from something left out of the initial brief... So, you need to identify that pain and put salt on the wound and let is ache for a bit before you to on to help them heal and fulfil their desires.</p>Q6 or Topic 6 Biggest Gap Feedback<p><strong>Managing States of Mind</strong></p><p>Looks like there's room for improvement in this key area. I don't know if you are aware of it, but there are at least 20 irrational, unconscious behaviours that affect the decisions we make as people, every day. Scientifically speaking, these are called cognitive biases. And at least some of them are affecting the way you and your client take decisions about the pitch. You, therefore, want to make sure you are aware of them and either eliminate them, or use them in your favour.
