Most people struggle with being present. The good news is, if we can set habits for reducing stress, we can also set habits for getting present. Here is what I'd like you to do: For the next ten days, commit yourself to meditating for 15 minutes in the morning, before you start your day. Focus on three things: 1. What are you grateful for?2. How can you expresses your very best today? 3. How would you like to feel when you look back on the day, before you go do bed? Topic/Question 1 results text 4-6It is easy to get caught up in the chaos that surrounds us. Here are some tips, before you walk into a meeting, start a conversation, or begin an activity that normally causes you to feel stress:1. Slow down your breathing,2. Ask yourself "how do I want to feel in this upcoming situation? and3. Focus on things you can appreciate. Topic/Question 1 results text 7-9You do well getting in the present moment. But you might not always be consistent. Here are a few tips: 1. Change your work space and or home environment so it encourages you to be present,2. After working for 90 minutes, take a break and regroup by taking a short walk, talking to a friend, reading something inspiring,3. Really listen to people you are in conversation with. Topic/Question 1 results text 10-12Congratulations! You're one of the few who are committed to living in the present. For you, it now about refining and mastering this focused ability.1. Remove yourself from people and situations that make it difficult or impossible to be present,2. Commit to a physical discipline (yoga, hiking, running, biking, etc.). Endorphins after a great workout bring us back to your body, and the present moment. 3. Adopt a person commitment for truth and authenticity. Being truthful and honest requires our focused attention in the now. Topic/Question 2 results text 1-3Most of us have not been encouraged to think - let alone act - on our purpose. Here is some suggestion for you to become more purpose-centered. Ask yourself,1. What do I love to di more than anything else?2. What would I like to have said about me after I die?3.If I could change the world in one way, what would that be? Record your ideas into a life purpose statement. Review and edit often. Topic/Question 2 results text 4-6A lot of us put the needs of others before our own, and later feel discouraged and resentful. Or, we are afraid to make decisions out of fear we will make a mistake. It's important to listen to your intuition. This inner voice is connected to and expresses your purpose. The language of the brain is thoughts. The language of intuition is feelings. Here are some tips: 1. Trust your intuition.2. Have the courage to make decisions based on your intuition even if there are no facts or past experience to prove it will be successful.3.Ask yourself prior to any situation "what purpose am I supposed to support"?Topic/Question 2 results text 7-9It would seem you are doing pretty well in this area but might need to develop a process that will help you achieve consistent results. Here are some ideas:1.Since the brain cannot tell the difference between a real situation and an imagined one, it’s important to direct a lot of your thoughts to what you want for tomorrow than obsess about what is happening today.2. Be willing to say no to things that don't express your purpose,3.Start keeping a journal to record your ideas on the subject of purpose. Topic/Question 2 results text 10-12Well done! You are a purpose-centered person. Part of your opportunity is to teach and model a purposed-centered life to others. Some thoughts to consider: 1. What is your highest and best expression of your purpose in life? 2. What kind of people should you be getting support from that you aren't now getting?3.How can you navigate around challenges with ease and grace?Topic/Question 3 results text 1-3Like most, you may not feel that play is a big part of your life because you’re very responsible, which doesn’t always leave from for being playful. Yet, this state of play and creativity is something we have to create for ourselves, and with that comes more energy, better ideas, more support from others, and far less stress. Here are some ideas to get you started:1.Remind yourself you don't have to be perfect in every situation,2.Practice brainstorming ideas without determining if they are viable,3. Adopt a process to review and learn from past mistakes, and see them as opportunities for growth.Topic/Question 3 results text 4-6Most people spend a lifetime doing what they think they should do not what they want to do. Here are some ways to turn this pattern around;1. Write down all the thing you love to do and give you joy. 2. Next, ask yourself how you are different when you do these things? What is your energy like? How do you treat people? What effect do you have on your family, kids, co-workers, clients?3. Now, commit to bring some of them into your life, and then watch what happens. Topic/Question 3 results text 7-9You obviously make your life about doing things you enjoy, and are reaping the benefits. To take it to the next level, consider these ideas: 1. Develop a process to get you into a state of "flow" at will. (Play + timelessness = flow). To get your creative juices flowing you might go to a special place, play certain music, meditate, write nonstop whatever comes to your mind for 10 minutes. 2. Bring this flow process into your life on a daily basis, especially when you are feeling blocked or have to do something that isn't inspiring.3.Invite other people into your play or "flow" process. Play is more fun with you do it with someone else. Topic/Question 3 results text 10-12You are one of the few who put conscious effort in doing what they love, and harnessing their creativity; who will experiment for the sake of discovery, not out of the need for perfection; and who will find and create opportunities to get lost in the pure joy of doing something they love. Your next step is in integrating Presence, Purpose and Play. 1. Chose to be in the present moment at any time, 2., Live a life of purpose, and live each moment with purpose, and 3, Be in a state of flow, where appreciation and delight bring you to a higher level of awareness and consciousness. When you bring these three together you'll discover that every person, in every situation has but two desires: To experience freedom and connection. Everyone wants the freedom from worry, setbacks, obsessions, challenges, dysfunctional relationships and mental barriers. Any everyone wants what we get on the other side of freedom, connection. A connection with our true selves; to others, nature, and however we define a higher self or god. Experience freedom and connect through Presence, Purposes and Play. And then share it.
