I'm overwhelmed by what needs to be done and lack clarity in my actions. I am working way too many hours and the work keeps coming.The workload is quite heavy and consistent, very little downtime, no recovery time. I never find enough time to complete what's on my "To Do" list. There's certainly a lot of work but there's not so much that I'm feeling overwhelmed- just super busy. Stress is manageable but not perfect.I am able to get my work done, and even when it's busy, I feel like I have the right amount of time to think strategically about big picture items. Time ManagementDo you feel in control of your day?I am constantly pulled into meeting, calls, projects, assignments, problem solving etc. that make it extremely challenging to get my own work done. I am often frustrated by other people's demands of my time and work delivery requirements. I feel there are still too many meetings/projects/other people's priorities that take up too much time.I have successfully been able to manage my day, I am prepared for the uncertainties and my workload is manageable. Purpose How do you feel when you get up in the morning to go to work?I feel so stressed about all the work I have to do I just want to pull covers over my head. I wonder if it’s worth it some days. I think about getting a different job but who has time for that?I enjoy work but I don’t seem to be able to motivate myself or my team. I ready to start the day. I understand what I’m trying to achieve and so do my team. Managing/Mentoring/delegating to Employees Are you effectively developing, mentoring and/or delegating to your direct reports or associates? I find that I am primarily/often providing directed answers and advice such as "You should do it this way" as I don't have the time and it’s easier than redoing their work. I'm a bit of a perfectionist... if I want it done right, better to do it myself. I have tried to delegate but I found that I am still spending too much time explaining how to do the work and I could have gotten it done in that time. I do try to teach/mentor when I have the time, I know this will help them learnI still need to learn how to delegate more projects and feel less attached to the results looking exactly like the way I would do it. I take the time to mentor/coach my direct reports/associates. I trust my direct reports/associates to do the work and seek input when they're stuck.How would you rate yourself today, on a scale of 1-12?Where would you like to be in 12 months time, on a scale of 1-12? Progression & Growth Are there new skills that you would like to explore to enhance your leadership/performance?I don't have the time. I've been doing this job for a long time, can't teach an old dog new tricks so what's the point?I wish I had more time, I'm afraid that I may be falling behind in some areas. I don't want people to think I don't know what I'm doing. I try to take classes and keep up. I'm actually interested in some new skills or expertise that would make me better at my job. I love learning new things and value and prioritize personal and professional development. ResilliencyHow well are you able to bounce back from setbacks?When something goes wrong, I ruminate over it and get really angry with myself. It takes a while to get over it. It permeates my day/week. It would be great to be able to move on from setbacks but sometimes it's hard to just let it go. This is something I need to work on. I can bounce back pretty quickly but I wish I had some tools to be more resilient and to manage better. I have integrated tools in my life that allow me to deal with setbacks and I take them as learning opportunities.How would you rate yourself today, on a scale of 1-12?Where would you like to be in 12 months time, on a scale of 1-12? Strategy Are you stuck in the details? I am mostly focused on the technical and production side of it all, basically, the day to day, trying to just getting it all done. I'm often frustrated with this. I would like to have a better vision for the department - not sure how I can develop this skill. I'm doing OK, but could improve. I do spend time thinking about strategy but it's not a focus of my job and/or how I approach my work. I consistently apply a strategic and visionary approach to my work as well not losing sight of the day-to-day.How would you rate yourself today, on a scale of 1-12?Where would you like to be in 12 months time, on a scale of 1-12? WellbeingHow is your overall health? Are you able to incorporate basic wellbeing and self care into your daily life?I don't take care of myself - I don't prioritize sleep, eating well and/or exercise. I don't meditate or do yoga and don't take off much personal time. Just too busy or not a priority.I'm often frustrated with this. I try to take care of myself, just have not been that successful at carving out the time. I know that exercise, sleep, good nutritional habits and self are important but I think it's hard to do it all. I'm doing OK, but could improve. My wellbeing is a priority. I try to carve out time for exercise, get enough sleep and eat right but could be better/more consistent. I'm really successful with this. I have a great regiment, I exercise, take care of myself. Give your self an extra point for having a mindfulness/yoga/relaxation practice. How would you rate yourself today, on a scale of 1-12?Where would you like to be in 12 months time, on a scale of 1-12? CareerIs your life/career where you want it to be right now? I don't have direction, I'm going through the motions, not living my purpose or best life. I don't know what I want. I am not getting or going where I want to be, I need help in gaining motivation, clarity and direction. I am on the right path but my aspirations, dreams, goals seem pretty far away. I got this! I'm excited about my present and future. GoalsAre you on target to meet your 1-3-5 year professional and personal goals?I'm really struggling with this. I don't have any goals, I don't know what I want and feel somewhat despondent.I'm often frustrated with this. I tried to put goals in place but I have not yet been able to have them materialize. I could use help in developing and implementing my goals. I'm doing OK, but could improve. I have my goals and vision but I need more specific action planning and more accountability, and more attainment.I'm really successful with this.
