  • How do you start your day?

  • “Rudderless.”
It varies ... whatever hits my attention first gets my attention!

  • “Screen first.”
I check email and social media first (sometimes while I'm still in bed, sometimes I wait until I get into the bathroom).

  • “Weekday Routine.”
Mornings are mine. Exercise and breakfast all come before I pick up a screen. Weekends are for catching up on sleep!

  • “In Flow.”
Every day starts with the same routine including centering, exercise, healthy food, and time for me. I'm centered and engaged all day.

  • How do you feel about your work?

  • "Awful."
And my spouse hates my company / my job more than I do!

  • "Meh."
Some achievement. Some reward. But the stress is high, the workload is high, and the hours are excessive.

  • "Good, and..."
Most of my time is spent in my Zone of Genius but I still have a lot of stress.

  • "Love it!"
I spend all of my time in my Zone of Genius. I feel valued and am having the impact I desire. And I am rewarded well.

  • How's your income?

  • “Chronically Behind.”
I should be farther along by now and I don't see myself ever catching up.

  • “Flat.”
Company is making money but I'm not making enough or my income is stagnant. I look at my finances only when I have to.

  • “OK. but Tight.”
I’m bringing home good money but why am I still living paycheck to paycheck? I look at finances but don't have a budget or a plan.

  • “Strong.”
I make more than I need. I am spending reasonably and saving well. I know my financials and review them regularly. The future looks solid!

  • How are the people you work with?

  • "What Team?"
If I want it done right or on time, I have to do everything!

  • "Meh."
Some of my team are pretty good. I spend too much time managing and too little time getting things done.

  • "Good."
I lead a group of talented people who do good work... but I still spend too much time managing instead of leading.

  • "Great."
I serve a group of amazing people who love working together and produce incredible results!

  • How is your relationship with your family?

  • "Family?"
I eat dinner at my desk more than at home. I don't even know what sports my kids are playing.

  • "Weekends-only."
I make it to family or kid events ... on weekends. Weeknights are impossible!

  • "Skin of My Teeth."
I race to make it to dinner or recitals or games. I get there, but barely. I'm there physically but often distracted by work ...

  • "All In."
I'm an active participant in family time and events. I'm present physically and mentally. (I'm even the coach for one of the teams!)

  • How's your community involvement?

  • "Zero."
I'll get involved after I retire (if I ever get there, that is).

  • "Arm’s Length."
I don't participate actively, but sometimes I just write checks instead.

  • "Knee Deep."
I have a few groups in which I participate though I know I have more to give.

  • "All In."
I'm active in peer, faith, and/or learning groups. I dedicate time every week because being of service lights me up.

  • How's your personal growth?

  • "Stagnant."
I'm just keeping up with what I have to do. Head above water. That's enough, isn’t it?

  • "Narrow."
It's all work-related (reading, training, podcasts, seminars) ... when I have to.

  • "Getting there."
I'm actively engaged in learning and personal growth because know working on me IS working on my business/career.

  • "Never done."
I am a lifelong learner. Curiosity and growth are woven into the fabric of each day. I am happiest when I am stretching ...

  • How's your legacy?

  • "Compost."
When I die, my impact on the world around me ends.

  • "Who?"
People may remember my name. But not for long and maybe not for the reasons I'd like ...

  • "Memorable."
People may remember my positive impact. But let's just say that it's 'nothing to write home about.'

  • "Deep."
I've made a lasting positive impact on people, organizations, and communities that will last generations.

  • How well are you living your values?

  • "Huh?"
I'm not really sure what "values" are, let alone what mine are.

  • "Ummm..."
I can't articulate my values but I do know what's important to me.

  • "Pretty Well"
Though I can name my values, I do wish I was living them more fully, more often.

  • "In Flow."
I know and live my values so fully that people around me could tell you what they are!

  • Looking at your life as a whole, how are you doing?

  • "Do-Over, Please!"
If my life was an app, I’d delete and reinstall!

  • "I'm getting by."
Could be worse (and it has been). Life is OK. I'm fine.

  • "Life is good."
I love where I am and am hopeful for the future and what I will create.

  • "This is Heaven on Earth."
I am living a wildly fulfilling life and wouldn’t change a thing!
