Here are 3 quick tips to help gain the confidence necessary to push through fear of failure.1. Learn to think more positively - This takes work but can be incredibly powerful. One strategy is to: Think of a time in which you succeeded in something that you considered equally as scary. Then ask, what was it about YOU that made the situation successful. Lastly, figure a way to use that personal attribute to push you through the current fear.2. Analyze all possible outcomes – Most fear is rooted in the unknown so considering all possible outcomes to your decision remove the fear. My absolute favorite question ask myself is; what is another way of looking at this situation? Often, we are so focused in a singular way of thinking that we talk ourselves out of amazing possibilities.3. Have a back-up plan - If you're afraid of failing at something, having a back-up plan in place can help you feel more confident about moving forward.Q2 or Topic 2 Biggest Gap FeedbackBusiness RelationshipSounds like you are struggling with your business relationship. Here are 3 quick tips to help get you back on track.1. Reframe your mindset – The best advice I ever receive about being in positions of high responsibility is that you will never be caught up; what is important is how you manage how far behind you are. Ask yourself, what is actually important for today and focus on those tasks.2. Reframe your worklist – I recommend making a Top Three Things worklist each morning. Only put the three most critical items on a sticky and don’t look at, or work on anything else until those are complete!3. Hire temporary help – I know, I know, there is never money in the budget for something that you can learn yourself. Really ask yourself, what is my sanity worth! You can find temporary virtual assistants extremely inexpensive compared to what therapy or marriage counseling will cost. Every successful and happy entrepreneur I know hires out tasks that they are not good at so that they can focus on what they are best at in the business.Q3 or Topic 3 Biggest Gap FeedbackCash FlowSounds like your relationship with money is strangling your growth potential. Here are 3 quick tips to help ease that strain.1. Take control – Very often entrepreneur’s fears around money come from ignoring or not understanding money matters. Take control of your finances and self-educate on money matters. That way, you’ll always feel like you’ve got your finger on the pulse of your business. The repercussions of failing to do so: financial ignorance is one of the main reasons eight out of ten businesses fail in the first 18 months of business.2. Work to shift your money mindset – Most often when entrepreneurs are anxious concerning money, they tend to play small and this can rapidly slow their possibility for growth. Ask yourself, if I were not so anxious about money, what would I do differently in my life or business. Then explore, how you would need to view your relationship with money in order to make that stretch. For example, if I viewed money as something that must be controlled at all times then I might not take a perceived risk in a new opportunity. However, If I viewed money as an opportunity, I might take the risk and invest.3. Find a Trusted Advisor – I cannot stress enough the importance of having an unbiased advisor in your corner. Find someone that you can bounce ideas off and will challenge your thinking. If you do not have someone close you can join a mastermind group, business advisory group, or hire a coach.Q4 or Topic 4 Biggest Gap FeedbackStrategyIf you are like me, even the thought of putting together a “strategic” plan makes your head spin. They may seem daunting and constricting if you have not prepared one before, but the truth is regardless of the size of your business, operating for any length of time without a strategic plan will severely slow your growth and cause additional stress. Here is a secret, they do not have to be this painfully long document.A strategic plan should not be confused with a business plan. A business plan is about setting short or mid-term goals and defining the steps necessary to achieve them. A strategic plan is typically focused on a business' mid- to long-term goals and explains the basic strategies for achieving them. There are hundreds of examples online, just pick one that meets your level of comfort and knock it out this week!Q5 or Topic 5 Biggest Gap FeedbackValues AssessmentOne of the largest limiting factors in business growth I see in 1st year businesses is the owner does not do a deep dive into understanding their personal values and aligning the business around them. Why is that so important you might ask.Well, if your top value is family and you want to quit your corporate job and start a business during your last child’s junior year in high school. You will want to create your businesses’ strategic plan and short-term goals with spending time with your child in mind. I have watched that scenario play out and the owner was miserable when she was missing out on time with her daughter. With a realignment, she was able to design her business in a way that honored her value of family and created the income required. If you have a lot of stress around your business or work life balance, start by asking yourself what personal value are you currently honoring.Q6 or Topic 6 Biggest Gap FeedbackProgressionIt sounds like this is an area of opportunity for you. So often leaders get caught up in the trap of ignoring the investment of time or money in the business’s most valuable asset, THEMSELVES! This is one area that you should not ignore. Most of the elite business leaders and athletes in the world have coaches to keep them focused, progressing and held accountable. Here are 4 quick tips to help up your networking game.1. Target audience: Be extremely clear in your mind who your target audience is. For example, “My ideal client is a service-related entrepreneur who has been in business for over 6 months and is struggling because they are worried about risk and playing small” or “My ideal client is a high potential employee wanting to move into the “C” suite of a fortune 1000 company”. Unless you are clear in your target, you are not maximizing your experience.2. Set a clear intention: Decide ahead of time what you would like to get out each event you attend. For example, I am going to focus on approaching 5 people that either know my target audience and or are my target audience.3. Build relationships: People do business with those they know, like and trust. To help build those genuine relationships start conversations by asking questions about the person you are speaking too. People love to talk about themselves and it puts them at ease.4. Have an ask: Once someone shows interest don’t be afraid to ask for what you need. One non-abrasive way to make the ask is to do it in the form of a question. For example, “Who do know that has started a business in the last year but is struggling to really take off?”. You can also ask where the best place is to meet your target market. These type of questions will serve you well and help you start seeing results when networking.Call to Action for EveryoneCall to Action For Column 1Find out more about how to exponentially accelerate your business growth and reduce your stress.Book a 1 on 1 20-minute discovery call via zoom.During this call we will take a dive into your unique situation and discover a few action steps to get you unstuck or moving forward at an accelerated pace. This is not a sales call!
